  1. Alexander Shorokhoff AvantGarde Revolution

    Alexander Shorokhoff AvantGarde Revolution

    S$5,869.00

With the Revolution, Alexander Shorokhov wanted to realize his talent of engineer by showing more art and more Avantgarde in his design. At the same time, he was expressing his view to the future. The Revolution's big case of diameter 43.5mm not only gives Alexander Shorokhov space for the movement and the dial; but also makes room for his revolutionary imagination. Continuing his direction of avant-garde art, he completes the free space with geometrical elements such as a square, a pyramid and a sphere; as well as with small movement parts like springs and wheels. These parts are literally floating in free room within the case which is likely to be broken through by the metallic bars. A small bridge with enamel coating in the centre connects the watch with the surrounding space, which otherwise remains free and transparent. The inner rim of the case and the outer edge of the small dial are similar to technical wheels. The aim was to create a feeling for the industrialisation and the heavy change in the lives of the people. The big industry and fine mechanism of watches are connecting with each other perfectly. Both aspects are symbolic for the watches of the Avantgarde-collection by Alexander Shorokhoff – connecting the non-compatible. In this way, place for reflection, thinking over and philosophizing arises. This is what makes this watch interesting, exciting and a real eye catcher. The avant-garde dial with different shapes and colours fits perfectly in with its predecessors in the same family, namely Miss Avantgarde, Plus-Minus and Kandy Avantgarde. The case back is enamelled with further information about the watch. The rotor of the automatic movement is hand-engraved and refined. The new object d’art of the designer and engineer Alexander Shorokhov brings the AvantGarde collection to a new level and reflects his visions of the future."

  7. Alexander Shorokhoff Kandy 3D Black

    Alexander Shorokhoff Kandy 3D Black

    S$4,290.00

The Kandy lineup by Alexander Shorokhoff is dedicated to the most famous Russian avant-gardist, Wassily Kandinsky. Kandinsky possessed an extraordinary artistic intelligence and a pronounced feeling for colors and form. He assigned colors a deeper meaning and associations, for example by describing the colour blue as “soft” and “aromatic”; or in contrast, the colour yellow as “fierce” and “pungent”. Further, he assigned specific shapes to specific colours. For instance, he imagined the colour red to be a square. Alexander Shorokhov takes up these colors and shapes in his latest creations as well. The dial of the Kandy is square and for the 3D lineup, exhibit a three-dimensional guilloche. The back of the case shows four round glasses of which three are coloured in red, blue and yellow, the most important colors in Avant Garde art. Compatible with this, a modern and angular case shape was chosen. The edges were rounded off and milled laterally to fill in the resulting cavities with rose-gold wires. In order to apply the enamel evenly around the case, the central part is manufactured without lugs. They will later be welded to the bottom of the case.

  9. Alexander Shorokhoff Kandy Classic

    Alexander Shorokhoff Kandy Classic

    S$4,197.00

As part of the Kandy lineup, Alexander Shorokhoff has created the model - Kandy Classic. Watches that come with a square case are not usually described as a "classic and timeless beauty" - precisely the reason why the Kandy Classic has come about. After all, the whole idea behind the Avant Garde collection is to create timepieces that are controversial and provocative. Consequently, Alexander Shorokhov has once more proven that he is able to connect the contrasts of classical and modern art into one harmonious ensemble. He remains true to his principles concerning the design of all watches of the Avant Garde collection. As is signature of the collection, the dial of the Kandy Classic is decorated with large figures 20, 40 and 60. The surface of the watch dial is first treated circularly before being covered by enamel. The result is a very brightly shining “summer feeling”. The case is extraordinary, too. It is first made without any lugs – they are later welded to the back. This makes it possible to include grooves on the case for the insertion of decorative wires. The back of the case comes in the trademark Kandy design where three of the four small round glass elements, offering a peek into the decorated movement, are in three different Avant Garde colours – red, yellow and blue. Truly, a piece of Art on the Wrist.
