The MECEXP MS1002 represents the next step in the brand’s exploration of non-traditional time display. Where conventional watches rely on circular motion and static layouts, the MS1002 introduces a layered, linear approach that transforms the act of reading time into a dynamic visual experience.
Driven by an upgraded in-house movement, the watch combines horizontal hand travel with reverse-rotating digital indications. The result is a display that feels futuristic yet intuitive - one that reveals time through movement rather than repetition.
This is a watch designed for collectors who are drawn to experimentation, architecture, and mechanical logic expressed in new ways.
Why We Curated This
A bold reinterpretation of time display beyond traditional dials
Strong industrial design that prioritises structure and function
Appeals to collectors interested in kinetic, engineering-led watches
Display & Design Language
At the centre of the MS1002 is its linear flyback leadscrew system, which translates time into horizontal motion across the dial. This linear display is paired with coaxial reverse-rotating digital numerals, creating depth and visual tension rarely seen in wristwatches.
The architecture of the dial is intentionally layered, allowing the mechanics to become part of the visual identity. Curved forms and sharp geometry coexist, giving the watch a sculptural quality that feels purposeful rather than decorative.
A dual-curved sapphire crystal enhances the sense of dimensionality while maintaining clarity and durability, reinforcing the watch’s modern, engineered character.
Movement & Engineering
Powering the MS1002 is MECEXP’s in-house CNC-driven motor movement, designed to support complex displays while maintaining precision and stability. The hybrid system combines mechanical display components with electronically controlled accuracy.
Key functional features include:
Linear flyback leadscrew time display
Reverse-rotating digital indications
Chronograph function
Power reserve indication
Energy-saving sleep mode
Calendar accuracy requiring adjustment only once every four years
A 270mAh battery provides dependable power, allowing the watch to deliver advanced functionality without constant charging or adjustment.
🎥 Watch: How to Operate the MECEXP MS1002.
Case & Construction
The case is sculpted from stainless steel, with a geometric form that balances modern dynamism and mechanical restraint. Finished with careful attention to surface treatment, the case emphasises clean edges and structural clarity.
Measuring 48.2mm × 39.6mm with a thickness of 16mm, the MS1002 is unapologetically present on the wrist - designed as a statement piece that remains balanced through thoughtful proportions.
On the Wrist
Despite its architectural complexity, the MS1002 wears with considered balance. The curved case profile and integrated strap design help distribute weight evenly, while the layered display rewards observation without overwhelming the wearer.
It is a watch that invites engagement - one that reveals its logic gradually, rather than all at once.
Strap & Wearability
The MS1002 is offered with a nylon-and-leather hybrid strap, combining durability with modern comfort.
Both options are designed to complement the watch’s industrial design language while ensuring day-to-day comfort.

Mido's Commander Chronometer adapts the brand's iconic design with modern cues. Featuring the latest Mido logo and a graduated dial, it also has a sapphire bevelled glass. Its automatic movement is chronometer certified and offers up to 80 hours of power reserve.
The "Chronometer" certification guarantees the high accuracy of a watch or a movement.
The tests run by the COSC include the verification of the engraved number on the watch movement and controls in a testing environment. Each movement is individually tested following a strict procedure that lasts several days in five positions and at different temperatures (8°C, 23°C and 38°C). Over 15 days, the movements go though daily controls. Every day - including Saturday and Sunday - the instruments are measured and wound. If it meets the standards, the movement is "Chronometer" certified.
Mido enhanced its flagship movement – the Caliber 80 – with a silicon balance-spring. In addition to its anti-magnetic properties, this component, which is essential in luxury watchmaking, offers far greater long-term accuracy than a standard balance-spring and better shock-resistance. It is a COSC-certified chronometer watch and offers an exceptional autonomy of up to 80 hours of power reserve.
Mido exclusively uses high-grade 316L stainless steel for its steel components to ensure complete and continued compatibility with the skin. This material resists corrosion, is unaffected by magnetic fields and demonstrates excellent durability, making Mido's stainless steel watches enduring creations that can stand the test of time and weather the elements. The metal’s many technical properties are complemented by its sleek, extremely pleasing aesthetics, enabling a wide range of uses.
Mido's sapphire crystal glass reveals its spectacular dials in sharp relief. They afford excellent readability in a range of conditions while perfectly complementing the watches' elegant design. Strong and shock-resistant, they are made to last, maintaining their exceptional transparency for many years.

Mido draws its inspiration for the Multifort Gentleman Swiss watch from the architecture of the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. The Mido Multifort’s characteristic Geneva stripes on the dial recall the suspension cables on the bridge. But the robustness and exceptional longevity of this collection, which has been in production since 1934, also define the Mido Multifort Gentleman as a sporty watch that has stood the test of time. Its Caliber 80 automatic movement adds to this robustness by giving it up to 80 hours of power reserve.
The Caliber 80 from Mido is a next-generation automatic watch movement which offers up to 80 hours of power reserve, twice as much as a regular calibre.
The extremely technical process of Physical Vapour Deposition (PVD) coats watch components in a strong, impurity-free film to ensure continued resistance to corrosion. This microscopically thin layer boosts the watch’s hardness and robustness while enhancing its elegant aesthetics in a beautiful shade of black. Its hypoallergenic properties increase its universal appeal and allow for a range of applications.
Mido's sapphire crystal glass reveals its spectacular dials in sharp relief. They afford excellent readability in a range of conditions while perfectly complementing the watches' elegant design. Strong and shock-resistant, they are made to last, maintaining their exceptional transparency for many years.
A patina is a unique pattern formed on natural leather over time. Mido uses this leather for its beautiful natural characteristics and its shimmering, soft sheen. Every patina is different and makes your watch uniquely your own, as it accompanies you in your day-to-day life. This remarkably poetic effect can only be achieved with continued and loving wear.

The Mido Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer is an irresistible neo-vintage style piece with bright colours and cutting-edge technologyr revives the diving spirit of the 1960s while transporting watch connoisseurs towards new horizons. Created in the 1960s, the innovative Ocean Star Skin Diver Watch used a multicoloured scale to display decompression times. Today, the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer retains this vintage charm. The original decompression plate, the applied and polished original Mido logo, the bright colors, the sapphire crystal in a "glassbox" shape that is reminiscent of the plexiglas used at that time - are all elements inspired by a legendary timepiece.
The colorful face of the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer pays tribute to the model created by Mido in 1961 and its innovative decompression scale function. The dial is dressed in the bright colours of the original model's table - an aesthetic nod to the legendary piece that is in no way intended to replace modern diving instruments. Depths are indicated at 12 o'clock: in meters (left) and in feet (right). Each coloured ring is assigned a scale - 25m (80 feet), 30m (95 feet), 35m (110 feet) and 40m (130 feet). The number corresponds to the depth at which the circle should be viewed by the diver. For example, at a depth of 25 to 29 meters, the first circle (yellow) should be consulted. In addition, each circle has a number 0 on it, the location of which varies from ring to ring. On the yellow circle, 0 is located near the 34th minute division of the dial, which means that at a maximum depth of 25 to 29 meters, the diver can remain at that depth for 34 minutes without needing to make a decompression stop during ascent.
The Mido Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer is equipped with a GMT function and a world time bezel to take you to new heights. A red arrow indicates the time of travel - in contrast to the flat diamond hour, minute and second hands. The rotating bezel, equipped with an aluminum ring, is marked in silver with the world's major cities. This will revive the diver's spirit of the 1960s to surf the frontiers, jet lag proof and deep underwater.
Mido designed the Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer to withstand any conditions and to do it with flair. The screw-down case back and crown contribute to its water resistance of up to 200 metres and protect the calibre 80 from water damage. The extreme reliability of this Swiss automatic movement, counts on a generous power reserve of up to 80 hours and a Nivachron™ balance-spring – providing exceptional resistance to magnetism and shock, which makes it particularly durable.
With its included additional strap, the Mido Ocean Star Decompression Worldtimer watch offers wrists a variation in style. Versatile and adding a sporty touch, the first is in textured navy blue or black rubber. An ingenious system allows you to change it at the click of a button for a second, more retro-style Milanese mesh strap.

Launched to mark the 80th anniversary of the brand’s Ocean Star series, the Mido Ocean Star GMT Special Edition distinctive sports collection, this special edition comes with a highly practical GMT function, and a host of vintage touches.
Naturally, it sports nautical colours, but with contrasting silver-coloured details such as the brand-new indexes shaped like... shark teeth! 🦈 Its incredible vintage charm includes several nods to the classics: its sapphire crystal (also known as “glassbox”), its 40.5 mm diameter (reminiscent of the modest dimensions of the era) and a multi-link bracelet in satin-finished and polished stainless steel.
Mido has enhanced this retro yet contemporary look with cutting-edge materials: stainless steel, Super-LumiNova®️, and an aluminium ring on the bidirectional rotating bezel. Thanks to this superb choice, the watch offers water-resistance up to 20ATM, which is denoted, as ever, by the starfish symbol engraved on the back of the watch. Combined with an anti-magnetic Nivachron™️ balance spring, its automatic movement – the Caliber 80 – with a power reserve of up to 80 hours, delivers superior mechanical performance. Perfect for navigating the oceans.
The timepiece comes with an additional strap for a sporty, urban and chic look, whatever the time zone.
The unwavering reliability of the Ocean Star has made it a constant companion during the toughest marine challenges since its creation in 1944. Even in those days, Mido was a pioneer in water-resistance, inventing the Aquadura system which first appeared in the 1930s.
Wear the Special Edition Ocean Star GMT with pride!
