Oris is delighted to announce that it has extended its collaboration with the Common Wadden Sea Secretariat to the end of 2025, and to present the Dat Watt Limited Edition II, a watch based on the Oris Aquis diver’s watch that supports the conservation of one of the world’s most vital ecosystems.
The Oris Aquis Dat Watt Limited Edition II watch has a unique green dial, coloured to reflect the way light reflects off the salt marshes found in the Wadden Sea, an area that covers 11,500 km2 in northern Europe. The watch also features an unusual circular date indication, driven by a Swiss made automatic mechanical movement. It’s water-resistant to 30ATM (300m) and comes with both a bracelet and an interchangeable rubber strap. Only 2,009 pieces will be made, marking the year the Wadden Sea was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Known affectionately as ‘the watch with a hole’, the Oris Aquis Depth Gauge uses the scientific principles of the Boyle-Mariotte Law to create a gauge that clearly measures depth during a dive. The patented system works by allowing water through a hole cut into the sapphire crystal at 12 o’clock and into a channel milled around the outer edge of the crystal. This creates a watermark that corresponds to a gauge clearly indicated in yellow on the dial.
The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge you get now captures and refines the spirit and functionality of the original, delivering even higher performance when it really matters deep below the ocean surface.
The Oris Aquis Depth Gauge has three key improvements:1. Depth gauge systemThe process used to mill the channel into the outer edge of the crystal has been refined so the accuracy and legibility of the gauge are increased.2. Metres to feet conversion chartThe case back has been re-engineered so the metres to feet conversion chart is always set at 90 degrees to the 12 o’clock position. The Oris Aquis Upcycle watch, which is available with either a 41.5mm or 36.5mm case, is particularly special. The PET plastic recycling process produces random patterns, meaning no two dials are the same. In effect therefore, each piece is unique. Oris is not limiting either size, and will keep making the Oris Aquis Upcycle models for as long as there’s demand. Oris's hope is that its customers will choose the Aquis Date Upcycle and join the brand in making a daily commitment to reducing the world’s ocean plastic crisis.
Beyond the dial, the watches share their architecture with the popular Aquis Date 41.5mm and 36.5mm models. Both have a stainless steel case and a uni-directional rotating diver’s bezel with a scratch-resistant grey ceramic insert. They also have a stainless steel bracelet with a clasp extension system, crown protectors, a screw-down crown and a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement.
