A rare vintage treasure reimagined — the Alexander Shorokhoff Lucky 8 combines playful design, technical ingenuity, and historic watchmaking into a limited edition of just 50 pieces.
Inspiration and Design
Part of the extended Vintage line, the Lucky 8 features a distinctive dial with filigree details and lively engravings. A unique cutout offers a glimpse into the refined movement, while even the date-changing wheel is decorated with fine engraving. Three fixing screws, blued by hand, complete the intricate aesthetic.
Dial and Case Details
The Lucky 8’s standout feature is its unusual date display. A silver date disk with yellow markers is mounted beneath a dial featuring 31 small windows. The current date appears at the yellow marker, read easily against the outer scale. Stamped, silver-plated figures add depth and sparkle.
Balancing this inventive display, the watch’s hands are finished in yellow, with hour and minute hands carrying the brand’s characteristic curves. The seconds hand is half-black, half-yellow for enhanced legibility. A genuine ostrich leather strap with a yellow seam completes the watch with a bold yet refined touch.
Movement and Performance
Inside beats the vintage Poljot 2416 movement, a rarity no longer in production for over 20 years. Once widely respected for its reliability, it now belongs to the history of watchmaking. At the Shorokhoff manufactory, each calibre is fully reworked, lubricated, hand-engraved, and finely adjusted before casing. Its craftsmanship is visible through the sapphire exhibition caseback.
Limited to only 50 pieces — the exact number of vintage movements secured by the manufactory — the Lucky 8 is both a celebration of horological heritage and a playful example of independent watchmaking artistry.
