Description
The Angles Disc One redefines how time is read. Instead of hands sweeping across a conventional dial, it presents time through rotating and jumping discs - transforming mechanical precision into a clean, architectural display.
Bold yet disciplined, it is a watch for those who appreciate independent design that challenges convention without sacrificing reliability.
Inspiration & Design
Founded by a team with over two decades of experience developing timepieces for established Swiss and Japanese brands, Angles Watches was created to explore original complications with creative freedom.
The Disc One reflects that ambition. Its layout replaces traditional hour and minute hands with:
- A jumping hour disc on the left
- A rotating minute disc on the right
- A central seconds hand
- A jumping date window at 12 o’clock
The result is symmetrical, minimal, and mechanically expressive. Rather than overwhelming the dial, the design remains structured and legible - inviting the wearer to engage with time differently.
Dial & Case Details
Crafted from durable 316L stainless steel, the Disc One balances industrial robustness with refined finishing. A sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating ensures clarity, while the exhibition caseback reveals the automatic movement within.
Each variant expresses a distinct character:
- Raw Steel – Brushed steel with black Super-LumiNova® numerals; direct and utilitarian
- Champagne Alloy – Warm ion-plated gold with black lume; restrained yet refined
- Obsidian Black – DLC-coated case with C9/BGW9 double-layer lume; bold and high-contrast
- Antique Steel – Distressed silver finish with vintage beige lume; subtly nostalgic
Despite their visual differences, all share the same architectural discipline and functional clarity.
Movement & Mechanics
At the core of the Disc One is the Miyota 8215 automatic movement, paired with Angles’ in-house jumping hour module.
This hybrid architecture combines proven Japanese reliability with independent complication development - delivering both durability and mechanical interest.
