Mechanical watches are usually experienced through sight and touch. The Lucky Harvey Chiming Watch 2.0 adds another dimension: sound.
Its self-produced LH003 automatic movement incorporates an hour-chiming mechanism, with the hammer and circular gong deliberately exposed on the dial. For this limited blue edition, Lucky Harvey combines that unusual complication with a Grade 5 titanium case and bracelet and a hand-worked radial-brushed dial. Production is limited to 100 pieces.
Inspiration & Design
At the centre of the Chiming Watch 2.0 is its visible striking mechanism. Lucky Harvey says the hammer takes inspiration from the bianqing, an ancient Chinese ritual musical instrument, connecting the mechanical function with a reference to traditional ceremonial music.
Unlike the previous dial treatment, this edition also removes the former silent-window display. That leaves more uninterrupted space for the radial texture and puts greater emphasis on the interaction between the dial, hammer and circular gong.
The result feels less like a conventional complication hidden beneath a dial and more like an instrument whose mechanism forms part of the visual architecture.
Dial & Case
The green dial is produced using a manual radial-brushing process rather than a conventional machine-applied sunburst finish. Lucky Harvey states that each dial takes approximately two to three hours to complete, with individually formed grooves creating a strongly directional texture that shifts with changing light.
Surrounding it is a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case measuring 11mm thick. The case combines precision CNC machining with directional brushing, polished surfaces and chamfered detailing. Sapphire crystal protects the dial, while water resistance is rated to 5 ATM.
Movement
Inside is Lucky Harvey's self-produced LH003 automatic movement, operating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) with 30 jewels and approximately 40 hours of power reserve.
Its defining feature is the hour-chiming mechanism. The exposed hammer works with the circular gong to produce the audible strike, turning the passage of time into both a visual and acoustic experience.
Through the sapphire exhibition caseback, the movement is visible with Geneva-stripe finishing and a gold-toned PVD rotor decorated with a guilloché pattern. Lucky Harvey states an average daily timekeeping deviation within ±15 seconds.
Bracelet
The watch is fitted with a matching Grade 5 titanium bracelet. Lucky Harvey redesigned the bracelet curvature for the Chiming Watch 2.0 so that it conforms to the wrist earlier, bringing the watch approximately 3mm closer to the wrist than the previous construction.
Despite the mechanical complication and full titanium bracelet, the complete watch weighs approximately 97g.
Final Thoughts
The Chiming Watch 2.0 shows why Lucky Harvey is difficult to categorise simply as an automata-watch brand.
Here, the spectacle comes from traditional mechanical principles - a hammer, a gong and the physical production of sound - presented in a distinctly contemporary package. The green hand-worked dial and Grade 5 titanium construction give the watch enough material and finishing interest to stand on their own, while the chiming mechanism provides the feature that makes it unmistakably Lucky Harvey.
