The Lucky Harvey Mahjong doesn’t simply put mahjong tiles on a watch dial - it recreates a four-player game mechanically on the wrist.
The dial is divided into four sectors, each representing a player and their mahjong hand. Miniature three-dimensional tiles reproduce the combinations involved in the final stage of a game, with players waiting for the tile that will complete a winning hand.
Activate the mechanism and the game plays out, bringing the familiar anticipation of waiting for that decisive tile into the mechanical experience.
Inspiration & Design
Mahjong is built around combinations, probability and the tension of waiting for the final tile. Lucky Harvey translates that experience into mechanical form rather than simply borrowing the game’s visual language.
Each of the dial’s four sectors represents one player. Across them, miniature tiles reproduce the structures of a mahjong hand, including sequences, triplets and pairs, together with the potential tiles required to complete a winning combination.
A standard winning mahjong hand consists of four sets and one pair, for a total of 14 tiles. A set can comprise either three consecutive numbered tiles of the same suit or three identical tiles.
By incorporating that logic into the display, Lucky Harvey gives the seemingly complex arrangement of tiles an underlying purpose. This is not simply a mahjong-inspired dial; it is a miniature mechanical game board.
Dial & Case
The dial is effectively a mahjong table viewed from above, with four player positions arranged around the central time display.
Each sector represents a player’s hand, with individually rendered three-dimensional tiles depicting familiar circles, bamboo, characters and honour tiles. Existing combinations and potential winning tiles create the game scenario around which the interactive mechanism operates.
On this version, the warm rose-gold-tone case and hardware provide a stronger contrast against the green playing surface, giving the watch a richer and more decorative appearance than its stainless-steel counterpart.
The case measures 43mm in diameter and 11mm thick and is topped by a synthetic sapphire crystal. Water resistance is rated to 30m/3 ATM.
Movement
Inside is Lucky Harvey’s CAL.LH000 automatic movement, providing the mechanical foundation for conventional timekeeping and the watch’s interactive mahjong function.
This is what separates the watch from a conventional mahjong-themed piece. Rather than merely displaying familiar symbols, the mechanism plays out the decisive stage of a four-player game and determines the winning outcome.
Mahjong therefore isn’t simply the theme of the watch - it is part of what the watch does.
Bracelet / Strap
The Lucky Harvey Mahjong is supplied on a genuine leather and fluororubber strap, combining the appearance and texture of leather with the practical properties of rubber.
Lucky Harvey specifies a suitable wearing range of approximately 150–200mm.
Final Thoughts
At first glance, the Lucky Harvey Mahjong looks like an extraordinarily elaborate mahjong-themed watch. Understanding how it works makes it considerably more interesting.
The four sectors represent four players. The miniature tiles form hands and potential winning combinations. And activating the mechanism isn't simply about creating movement - it plays out the conclusion of the game.
The rose-gold version adds another layer of visual character, with its warmer case finish working particularly well against the green dial and colourful tiles.
For a mahjong player, there are details here to recognise and understand. For everyone else, it is an unusually ambitious example of interactive mechanical watchmaking.
