Description
The Zelos Helica 42 Wave MOP combines the natural iridescence of mother-of-pearl with the precision of CNC guilloché, creating a dial that changes continuously with light and viewing angle. Its light blue surface is machined with Zelos's flowing Wave pattern, bringing structure and depth to a material already known for its individual character.
Presented in the larger 42mm Helica case, the Wave MOP balances its expressive dial with clean sports-watch architecture, a slim profile, 100m water resistance and the proven Miyota 9015 automatic movement.
Inspiration & Design
The Helica is Zelos's interpretation of the modern go-anywhere, do-anything sports watch — slim enough for everyday wear, robust enough for daily use, but with considerably more visual character than a conventional GADA watch.
Its faceted case and bracelet combine brushed and polished surfaces, creating changing reflections as the watch moves on the wrist. The dial follows the same philosophy. Rather than relying on a stamped pattern, Zelos uses precision CNC guilloché to create greater texture and depth.
For the Wave MOP, that precise machining is applied to naturally iridescent mother-of-pearl. The flowing Wave pattern gives structure to a material whose colour and character already change naturally with the light.
Dial & Case Details
The defining feature is the light blue mother-of-pearl dial, CNC-machined with Zelos's Wave-style guilloché. Because mother-of-pearl varies naturally, its colour and iridescence shift with changing light rather than remaining visually static.
Silver hands and indices keep the treatment restrained around the more expressive dial, with Super-LumiNova C3 and BGW9 X1 Grade providing low-light visibility.
The 316L stainless steel case measures 42mm in diameter, 49mm lug-to-lug and 10.5mm thick without the crystal, increasing to 11.9mm with the box-shaped sapphire crystal. Brushed and polished surfaces emphasise the Helica's faceted construction, while 100 metres of water resistance reinforces its everyday sports-watch positioning.
Movement & Mechanics
Inside is the Miyota 9015, a slim Japanese automatic movement well suited to the Helica's relatively slender case architecture.
This version incorporates a custom date wheel, integrating the practical date complication more deliberately into the overall dial design. The 9015 provides a proven mechanical foundation while allowing the Wave MOP itself to remain the visual focus.
Bracelet/Strap & Wearability
The Helica 42 Wave MOP is fitted with a multi-link, faceted stainless steel bracelet, designed to continue the alternating brushed and polished surfaces of the case.
It tapers from 22mm at the lugs to 18mm at the clasp, helping balance the larger 42mm case on the wrist. The latest Helica bracelet also introduces a quick-adjust butterfly clasp with four adjustment positions across 10mm, allowing the fit to be fine-tuned without changing links.

The Wave MOP demonstrates why the Helica works particularly well as a platform for more unusual dial treatments.
Mother-of-pearl already ensures that the dial reacts constantly to its surroundings, but the CNC Wave pattern gives that natural variation a deliberate structure. The result is expressive without turning the Helica into a dress watch or display piece.
