The -N- is Horizon Watches' first collection. The series of dive watches is inspired by Captain Nemo’s submarine vessel, the Nautilus, in Jules Verne’s classic: Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea.
Fred Bekher, co-founder and designer of Horizon Watches, will always remember how as a child while he pored over Verne's work, he would imagine how the Nautilus looked like. These memories, aided greatly by Vernes' very eloquent description of the submersible, served as a basis for Bekher's design.
The 42mm case of the -N- comprises of two parts with side bevels that go from the bottom part of the case body to the crown guards. Crafted in either 316L stainless steel or CuSn8 marine bronze, the Nautilus’ case features different surface finishings to achieve contrast between polished and brushed surfaces.
The Horizon Watches -N- comes with two different dial designs. Dials for the stainless steel models have a textured centre while those for the bronze models have a patterned centre. A Victorian-style minute railway design marks the passing of the minute hand. Hour markers are in the form of circle indices with indices at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock shaped differently as inspired by nature, namely the nautilus, which is widely considered a symbol of beauty and perfection. Indices and hands are coated with SuperLuminova for maximum legibility in low-light conditions. The date has been cleverly built into the design as one of the hour markers with the date wheel coated in SuperLuminova so that the date window glows in the dark.
Powering the -N- is the TMI NH35A calibre, which is known and proven to be a reliable workhorse movement. The caseback of the -N- features a specially designed illustration that is etched and encased in sapphire crystal to create an illusion. Your eyes are first attracted by the apparent depths of the artwork. Then, your fingers will be drawn to explore these fathoms below only to make contact with the clean flat surface of the sapphire glass.
The bezel of the watch features a coin-edged style design and includes a dome- shaped insert made from black PVD coated stainless steel. With the Alexander Shorokhoff Revolution, Alexander Shorokhov wanted to realize his talent of engineer by showing more art and more “Avantgarde” in his design. At the same time, he was expressing his view to the future. The Revolution's big case of diameter 43.5mm not only gives Alexander Shorokhov space for the movement and the dial; but also makes room for his revolutionary imagination. Continuing his direction of avant-garde art, he completes the free space with geometrical elements such as a square, a pyramid and a sphere; as well as with small movement parts like springs and wheels. These parts are literally floating in free room within the case which is likely to be broken through by the metallic bars. A small bridge with enamel coating in the centre connects the watch with the surrounding space, which otherwise remains free and transparent.
The inner rim of the case and the outer edge of the small dial are similar to technical wheels. The aim was to create a feeling for the industrialisation and the heavy change in the lives of the people. The big industry and fine mechanism of watches are connecting with each other perfectly. Both aspects are symbolic for the watches of the Avantgarde-collection by Alexander Shorokhoff – connecting the non-compatible. In this way, place for reflection, thinking over and philosophizing arises. This is what makes this watch interesting, exciting and a real eye catcher.

To commemorate RAW's 15th anniversary in 2019, a special Celebratory Edition was created by Alexander Shorokhov, who described it as his "57,000 hours way to a masterpiece for RAW".
In coming up with this collectible, Shorokhov brought together things that reminded him about Singapore and RAW as well as his favourite things such as the combination of rose gold and stainless steel.
The Alexander Shorokhoff x RAW Celebratory Edition features a unique blue sunburst dial inspired by the blue waters surrounding Singapore and RAW's corporate colours.This collectible is limited to 15 pieces worldwide as a nod to RAW's 15th anniversary.
The watch is powered by the reliable and solid Russian AS3105 movement. Rose gold highlights complement the stainless steel elements of the watch. The inclusion of a chapter ring - a first in Alexander Shorokhoff's designs - gives the classic Avant Garde dial that the brand's fans are familiar with a totally different look.
