A heritage-inspired chronograph that revives the pioneering A581 spirit with golden accents and purposeful mechanical design.
Inspiration & Design
The Pioneer Chronograph Special Edition Gold is a tribute to the pioneering legacy of the A581, Shanghai Watches’ first mechanical timepiece. Reimagined for modern collectors, this special edition bridges heritage and innovation, honouring the bold spirit that shaped early Chinese horology.
Drawing inspiration from the 304 chronograph once developed in Shanghai Watch’s 608 workshop, the design pays homage to the engineers and craftsmen who pushed boundaries during the formative years of the brand. Echoing the brilliance of dawn and the calm of moonlight, this chronograph records moments of challenge and achievement - a fitting companion for those who continue to forge new paths.
Dial & Case Details
The dial faithfully recalls the defining elements of the A581 lineage. Arabic numerals and arrow-shaped indices establish a strong vintage foundation, while the signature red-tipped central seconds hand injects a distinctive sense of heritage and motion.
At the upper dial sits a golden building-shaped logo, inspired by the Chinese characters for Shanghai (上海), representing the brand’s earliest emblem and pioneering identity. Balancing this, the lower dial features the phrase “中国上海” rendered in a 1950s artistic typeface, preserving the brand’s timeless aesthetic heritage.
The chronograph layout is thoughtfully balanced, featuring a 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and small seconds at 9 o’clock. A sandblasted dial finish enhances legibility and precision, ensuring clarity across all functions while reinforcing the watch’s purposeful, instrument-like character.
Movement & Mechanics
Powered by a mechanical chronograph movement, the Pioneer Chronograph delivers precise timekeeping alongside its stopwatch functionality. The central chronograph seconds hand, marked with its signature red tip, ensures immediate readability - a hallmark of the original prototype designs.
Turning the watch over reveals a finely crafted stainless-steel caseback, decorated with a retro double-ring floral motif and elegantly engraved with “Shanghai” in calligraphy. This detail reflects the city’s cultural charm and sophistication while reinforcing the watch’s historical lineage.
Crown & Heritage Details
The crown is designed with functionality and refinement in mind, offering a secure grip for confident operation. Together with the chronograph pushers, it completes a cohesive design language rooted in utility, balance, and heritage.
Every detail - from typography to hand design - serves as a quiet nod to the pioneering era that defined Shanghai Watches’ identity.
Strap & Wearability
Sized at 39mm, the Pioneer Chronograph offers versatile proportions suitable for both vintage enthusiasts and modern wearers. Paired with a leather strap, the watch balances visual presence with everyday comfort, transitioning effortlessly from formal settings to casual wear.
Its harmonious proportions and warm golden accents lend the watch a refined yet purposeful wrist presence.
The Shanghai Watches Pioneer Chronograph 39mm Special Edition Gold is a celebration of courage, innovation, and continuity. Rooted in the A581 legacy and inspired by Shanghai’s early chronograph development, it captures the essence of pioneering watchmaking while offering a timeless, functional design for today’s collector.
A meaningful chronograph that honours the past - and measures the moments that move us forward.

Cofrefor Limited Edition Watch – Astérix in Switzerland 55th Anniversary | Designed by Seconde/Seconde/
Celebrate 55 years of Astérix in Switzerland with the Cofrefor Limited Edition, a playful yet masterfully crafted timepiece designed by Romaric André of Seconde/Seconde/ in collaboration with Chronofixe. This Swiss Made watch brings a comic book icon to life—Astérix himself appears mid-heist, ear to the dial, fingers decoding the bezel like a Swiss vault.
Every detail of the Cofrefor tells a story. The bi-directional bezel echoes a combination lock, while the vault-handle-shaped crown completes the safe-cracking fantasy. The engraved caseback reads: “Aussi hermétique qu’un coffre helvétique” – as sealed as a Swiss vault.
Underneath the playful design lies serious craftsmanship. Powered by the trusted Sellita SW200 automatic movement, this mechanical watch requires no battery—just the motion of the wrist. Durable, dependable, and distinctly Swiss, it offers precision timekeeping with a touch of irony.
Crafted with a 37mm stainless steel case and a brushed steel bracelet, the Cofrefor exudes understated strength. Clean lines and brushed surfaces echo the robust aesthetic of a high-security safe—an homage to Swiss banking secrecy and mechanical precision.
Whether you’re a watch enthusiast, a comic book lover, or a collector of limited editions, the Cofrefor is a bold fusion of pop culture and horology. This is Seconde/Seconde/ at their ironic best—turning dials into scenes, watches into stories.

Tennet Argonaut – A Bold Reimagining of the Diver’s Watch
The Tennet Argonaut is a daring reinterpretation of the classic diver’s watch—boldly original, beautifully balanced, and designed with a meticulous eye for detail. Conceived and designed in Singapore, the Argonaut reflects Tennet’s distinctive design language with a fresh, uncompromising take on one of watchmaking’s most iconic genres.
At its core beats a Swiss automatic Sellita movement, selected for its proven reliability and precision. Protected within is a fearsome octopus engraved onto the closed caseback, a powerful tribute to the deep sea—symbolising strength, wisdom, and the enduring mystery of the ocean’s depths.
The mazarine blue dial is nothing short of mesmerising. With its sunray finish that shimmers with light, it offers a dynamic contrast to the dial’s depth and complexity. Tennet’s signature sculptural teardrop hands make a bold return, now more expressive than ever, accompanied by rounded pips at the minute markers and soft mauve Superluminova for optimal legibility in the dark. A lollipop second hand adds a touch of whimsical refinement.
The 40mm stainless steel case is both sporty and sophisticated, with Tennet’s trademark horned lugs—pinched, sandblasted, and curved for an ergonomic wrist-hugging fit. The addition of a matte blue aluminium bezel gives the Argonaut a dynamic silhouette and a patina-ready finish. Its 120-click unidirectional action provides precise, satisfying tactile feedback, with luminous indices and numerals for low-light functionality.
Crowning the case is a double-domed sapphire crystal with inner anti-reflective coating—delivering the charming distortion of vintage divers with the resilience of modern materials. The screw-down crown, featuring protective crown guards and Tennet’s distinct “Domino” dimples, is finished with a red dot—subtle yet proud homage to Singapore, the Little Red Dot.
The Argonaut doesn’t just look the part—it performs. With a 300-meter water resistance rating, this is a dive watch built for true exploration, whether navigating ocean depths or urban terrain.
Completing the design is a bespoke three-piece stainless steel bracelet, fully matte-finished and created specifically for the Argonaut. Equipped with quick-release ends and micro-adjustment capability, it delivers both form and function in equal measure.
The Tennet Argonaut is more than a diver’s watch. It is a confident, contemporary expression of strength, elegance, and originality—ready for wherever your journey leads.

The Seiko Prospex SPB315J1 is part of the collection's Sea line with its design based on a 1968 heritage watch. The 1968 Seiko diver’s watch was designed to fit the needs of the professional diver for whom a reliable, accurate, legible and durable watch was indispensable. In its creation, form followed function without compromise, as is the case in these re-creations.

The case is just 12.3mm in depth, making it the slimmest of all Seiko diver’s watches. Every detail is crafted with the needs of the diver in mind. The date window is positioned to allow unimpeded sight of all twelve indexes and the slim profile of the case and a new compact clasp ensure a comfortable fit on the wrist.
